The booking page lists a ¥5,500 after-hours surcharge from 17:00 when applicable and a ¥5,500 weekend / national holiday surcharge when applicable. For consultations in languages other than English, interpreting may cost ¥20,000 plus tax. Medicines are paid for separately at the pharmacy.
What the starting fee includes
Your estimate depends on the appointment time and any extra services. Prescription issuance, medicine, certificates and interpreting can add to the bill. Check each item in the booking form.
Before using travel insurance
Ask your insurer whether online consultations in Japan are covered and whether you need approval before the visit. Check the claim deadline and required documents.
Do you need a medical certificate?
Ask your insurer first. A medical certificate is a paid option, and a receipt may be enough for some claims. Keep receipts from the consultation and pharmacy separately.
Changes and cancellations
Check the cancellation terms before confirming. If you change your appointment, ask whether the fee will change. Japanese public health insurance is handled separately; the booking form directs those patients to in-person care.
Insurance included with your credit card
Use the assistance number in your card’s benefits guide. Ask about online medical care in Japan, who is covered, trip length, excess and limits. Some policies require you to pay for eligible travel with the card before coverage applies.
Submitting your claim
Pay for the consultation and keep the itemized receipt. Submit your insurer’s claim form with the documents it requests, including pharmacy receipts if relevant. Your insurer decides the reimbursed amount under your policy.
