Is the starting fee my final bill?
No. Review the estimate for your appointment time and any additional services before confirming. Ask whether prescription issuance, medicine, a medical certificate or interpreting will be charged separately. Compare the total for the services you need, not just the consultation fee.
Will my travel insurance cover an online doctor?
Ask your insurer whether your policy covers an online consultation in Japan, whether approval is needed and what documents to keep. Confirm any excess, limit and claim deadline. This page explains paying for a doctor visit; it does not compare or sell travel insurance policies.
Do I need to pay for a medical certificate?
Ask your insurer which documents it requires before choosing a paid certificate. A receipt, itemized bill and medical certificate are different documents. Keep consultation and pharmacy receipts separately, and ask the provider whether the required document can be issued in the language your insurer accepts.
When do I pay, and what if I cancel?
Travelers Hospital’s booking terms describe a ¥0 card authorization when booking, with payment after the consultation. Its published cancellation policy allows free cancellation up to 30 minutes before the appointment; later cancellation or a no-show incurs ¥11,000. Read the current terms before confirming.
Does my credit card include medical cover?
Check your own card’s benefits with its insurer or assistance service. A Visa, Mastercard or other brand logo alone does not confirm insurance coverage. Ask whether your trip and online appointment qualify, including any requirement to pay for travel using the card.
Can I receive cashless treatment?
Cashless treatment means the insurer pays the provider directly; reimbursement means you pay first and claim eligible costs later. JNTO advises checking which arrangement your policy offers. Confirm the arrangement with both the insurer and provider before relying on it. Selecting travel insurance on a booking form does not by itself establish cashless approval.
