Ask how an in-person appointment would be arranged and whether you would pay another consultation or test fee. The doctor will explain the medical next steps.
Comparing time and cost
Check the total estimate, including prescriptions, medicine, documents, interpreting and any time-related charges. Online consultations are available 24/7, but travel time and pharmacy opening hours still matter.
Checking your insurance
Ask whether your policy covers the appointment type and whether prior approval is needed. Travel-insurance claims are made after you pay. Japanese public health insurance follows a separate process.
